install or update your blog favicon

Favicons are the little icons that sit next to your blog title in your internet browsers tabs. They can be fussy little bugger but here is a quick tutorial on how to install a favicon, or if you already have one, make a new one show up instantly. Sometimes when you install or update a new favicon it doesn't show up for 24 to 48 hours, but this is a super quick way to make it show up instantly!

STEP ONE:

You will need to make yourself a favicon (or use one of the ones I have provided for free here), and it needs to be a square, I recommend 400px by 400px. You can make these on PicMonkey if you don't have a photo editing program.

STEP TWO:

Now go to your blogger dashboard and click edit on the Favicon section top left.

STEP THREE:

If you already have a favicon, press remove, then press CHOOSE FILE and search for your favicon on your computer.

STEP FOUR:

You will see your little favicon show up then press SAVE.

STEP FIVE:

Go to VIEW BLOG and then type /favicon.ico after your blog URL and press return

(enter)

STEP SIX:

Once you press enter you should see your new favicon show up in the top left corner, if you still see your old favicon refresh the page. When you see it press CTRL + F5 at the same time!

STEP SEVEN:

When you press CTRL + F5 you should now see your new favicon show up in the tab!

STEP EIGHT:

Simply go back your blog and you will now see your shiny new favicon in action!

VIOLA!
